My Hypocrisy is Not Healthy…

Often times in our lives we live in hypocrisy. We know what God’s word says but we twist it as to justify our own desires. We will name drop and say, “God told me to do this!” or “God blessed me with this!” Knowing totally that it wasn’t God who told you this but our own self desires. We get so good at it that we actually deceive ourselves to the point where we start to believe in our deceptions as norms.

Anything that is contrary to God’s word is just that “contrary”. We should not try to make others believe that God endorses things that are against His word. If we are wrong, then admit it. If we are feeding our flesh, then admit it. If we have selfish desires that doesn’t line up with God’s word, then admit it. We spend too much time trying to justify wrong that we could have just saved a lot of unnecessary wasted time.

My children have this habit of telling half-truths. When I question them on it they will go down in flames trying to stick with the half-truths. Even when there is video proof of the evidence. If they would have fessed up earlier, it wouldn’t have been an issue. But the more they tried to insult my intelligence is the more unruly I became. God knows what we do, when we do it, our motives for doing it and the outcome of the doing. We should stop trying to fools ourselves, everyone and God. We should not try to make wrong-right and right-wrong.

No one is perfect and God knows that we are not. His word tells us that, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). Our confession is not to man…man is not our savior. Our confession should be to God and because of His love for us he will forgive us.

Although my children have pushed me to the point of discipline for their actions, I do it out of love and I always extend forgiveness because I remember when I did the same thing to my mom and she forgave me. Let us stay true to ourselves and true to God!
