Have you ever felt like you are struggling? Have you ever felt like the more you strive…the harder the struggle? Many of us have felt the pull and tug on our lives and we get discouraged in the journey because we have the expectation that the more we strive to do right the more we should have some pain-less days.
But how do you manage to reconcile the fact that sometimes struggle is in our plan? How do we embrace the ideology that my struggle is for a purpose? 1 Peter 1:7 states, “so that the prof of your faith, being more precious than golf which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ”.
In this Peter is telling us that our faith is not tested to prove to God how much faith we have but to show US how much faith we have.
He test us so that we can know how much we can endure in our lives.
Have you ever wondered how you made it through when you didn’t think you could? It is because God is showing us that there is more strength to us than we really know and can appreciate. So the next time you think you are about to collapse in the struggle just remember that the same God that has kept you before is the same God that is keeping you now. I am thankful that now I know how much I can bear!
