Don’t Take It Personal…

As I was contemplating on Bible Study last night, we were discussing spiritual gifts and Paul’s encouragement to the Christians in Rome to utilize your gifts and to work together as many members in one body. This sparked the question in my mind of “why is it difficult for Christians to work together without schisms while working.” The only thing I could come up with is that we take things too personal when it comes to dealing with others.

The singer Monica had a hit out called, “Don’t Take it Personal.” I don’t know the lyrics or what she was talking about, but this seems to identify what we, as believers, struggle with when it comes to ministry and just getting along with each other. I could discuss the fact that we all are saved by the same blood of Christ. We are all heirs of the Kingdom. We are all God’s children. That means we have something in common. Since we share the same bloodline and we have the same mandate to win souls, we should not have a problem getting along to work.

The problem is that Satan has caused us to take too many issues personal, hindering us from working together for the greater good. I know, I know…you might say that people have wronged you and said things, or mistreated you. Stop throwing a pity party. They did the same to Christ. Pride comes before the fall. Tell them what they did to hurt you, be reconciled and move on. Life is too short to be hindered by misunderstanding and insignificant issues.

God has been too good to us and required too much from us to allow Satan to destroy the plan and will of God in our lives. If I have ever done anything to you. I’M SORRY! Don’t take it Personal!
