As I mature in age and spiritual growth I have noticed a change in the zeal and emphasis in Worship. During oppression, slavery and the civil rights era there was a fire in worship. Even those now who are on fire in worship, many are experiencing either major blessing or major burden in their lives. I am well aware that
Worship looks different for each individual. Some shout, some wave, some cry, some dance, some jump, some look, some sit and some run. Whatever your method is…the question I have is: Is your Worship on Fire?
Worship is a lifestyle, praise is thanksgiving. When we worship, are we coming out of a sense of humility and awe of the magnificent works of God? Or are we coming out of arrogance as though God owes us something. When I Worship I want to thank God for the undeserved blessings I receive on a daily basis. When you realize how good God has been in your life…you can’t help but praise and worship God. The song says, “Praise is what I do…I vow to praise you, through the good and the bad”. That means that no matter how I feel I can’t come to God with an excuse as to why I don’t feel like praising Him today.
Next time you worship. You should ask yourself. Is God pleased with my effort in worship? Am I coming to God with a cold Worship? If I serve an alive God should I give a dead praise?
