The other week I stopped at a Gas Station and when I came back out and attempted to start my truck it just clicked. I kept trying to start it but it wouldn’t turn over and it would not start. The lights would come on but the truck would not start the engine. I waited awhile and tried again. I read the manual and tried other options, but to no avail. I finally had to break down and call somebody to come and give me a boost. I attached the cables to their battery and as soon as I got in my truck and pressed the button…the truck started. I was able to drive home and was able to start the truck several more times until I was able to get another battery.
2 Corinthians 1:4 states, “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Sometimes along this journey of life we all need a boost. Sometimes we run down and fail to start when we need to and we need a boost to get us going. I don’t know what your boost is but my boost is when others are blessed by my ministry. Let me share a few interesting facts about my temporary setback:
(1) My truck did not give me a warning…I left church, made a stop and did not know that my truck was not going to start. Most of the time we do not know when we need a boost. Things happen and situations come and sometimes we need the Lord to place some people in our lives to jump us. There were no signs and no sluggish starts before. Just all of a sudden…I needed a boost.
(2) Although my truck didn’t start other things were still operable…my truck wouldn’t start but my radio, bluetooth, lights and other things still worked. Although you need a boost doesn’t mean you are a fully messed up. It may just mean you have an aspect in your life that needs a jump. It will tell you what it is and you can deal with it as you please.
(3) When I got a boost it didn’t take much…when I got a boost from the other car it took no time or effort to jump my truck. The other car was smaller and it didn’t take anything away from that car when it jumped my truck. Sometimes we just need a little boost to get us back going and where we need to be.
I thank God that when I need a boost, I have friends that will come to my rescue. There are times when we need the Lord to jumpstart us back on the grind and work. When you find yourself needing a boost, trust in the process and do what is necessary to get back on the road.
