A Missing Motivation…

How do you find the motivation to do what you need to do? I find a lot of people who get burned out or get tired with what they need to do and they now struggle to complete their task instead of running on the joy they first started with. Do you have to force yourself to do what is necessary? Does it come natural? Or are you like a robot and you are numb to the task and you are just operating?

Many people including myself have used the New Year to encourage ourselves to finding a fresh look at what we do. Looking for a reason to find the excitement in the work again. Whether is it job, home, church, relationships, marriage, we sometimes have to talk ourselves into doing what we have committed to do. Is this how life should be? Should we be able to cut the switch on and find that joy and motivation that we once had?

What motivates you? Is it the money? Is it the commitment? Is it the reward of being there for people? Is it our love for God? Is it our fear of being ridiculed? Is it that we need to feel wanted?

Whatever it is that motivates us we need to find it and MAKE COPIES. Life is too short to live in a routine unhappy and not finding the joy in what we do. Notice I did not say change your scenery. Too many people feel like that if I keep moving around keep changing my location then I will find a new love and joy. I will use this example…I love to change the furniture around in my house and office. People ask why I change so much. I have found out that if I can’t move, at least I can change the furniture around to give me a new perspective! My location hasn’t changed but now I see things differently and in a new way!

  1. Motivation has a lot to do with behavior. I’ll speak on myself, I am motivated by power. I use my power to motivate and empower other people to do something their life by finding their strengths and/or weaknesses and utilizing them. Sometimes a change in scenery breaks a person out of their mundane and usual routine be cause life is too short. Live a little!
