Being in California this week I have had the opportunity to see many mountains. When you look at the mountain it looks so close to where you feel you can run to it. When you get close to a mountain you can see the slope of the mountain and it gives you the impression that climbing a mountain is an hopeless task for the average person.
In 2 Samuel 15, David had to climb the Mount of Olives because he was distraught concerning his son Absalom and the threat coming from his own son. This part of Samuel was the roughest and darkest part of David’s life. He was dealing with the dysfunction of his own family and the backlash of his own sin. On this mountain David wept, he went up and he worshipped. What is the rough side of your mountain? What are you dealing with that is causing you to weep while you walk?
Many of us deal with some mountains in our paths but scripture tells us that if we have just enough faith as a mustard seed that we can tell our mountains to move. Faith can do that for you.
Faith is not believing in your power. That type of faith will fail when forced to function. But when you have faith in God, His power can deliver on his promise.
When you climb up the rough side of your mountain remember that with God’s help there will be a reason to worship when you reach the top. God will always deliver on his promise and his will! Take control of your mountain!
