I have encountered a lot of people who have been faithful to church and to the Lord when they are going through storms or needing something from God. They are faithful to church, worship services, bible studies and other church outings. They are coming because they need something from God.
But the problem occurs when the Lord answers their prayers with a job, a spouse, a relationship, a home, etc…after the Lord delivers then their faithfulness becomes unfaithful. The Lord answers their prayers and then that person draws away from God. Do we boast about our relationship with God only when we need something from Him? Or do we truly believe in God and worship him even when we feel like we got our lives under control?
The thing we must realize is that sometimes God has to get our attention and he knows what will get us to draw closer to Him.
Sometimes we must acknowledge that our emptiness and struggles are due to our lack of dedication to God while we are in the good seasons of our lives.
Matthew 6:33 states, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be added unto you”
I’ve learned that I can skip some of the rough patches in my life when I stay faithful to God no matter what state I am in. Be cautious of your demeanor after your deliverance. Don’t be a sometime Christian!

Not sure what to think about this post…to say that a person is unfaithful to God because they don’t attend church worship/church functions as often as they did before they were blessed, in God’s will, seems to be a bit judging. Just because a person’s appearance in church worship/church functions is reduced, doesn’t mean they are unfaithful to God. In your post you said “They are coming because they need something from God.” Seems to me that’s what a person is suppose to do…go to church. At any rate, your post is interesting and thought provoking to say the least. Keep them coming!
You are right! We are supposed to come to God when we need something. But if we only come to church and worship when we need something then we are only using God for things and blessings and not just for who He is! God wants us when things are good and bad. So our dedication to Him should be consistent.
