I was standing in line at Walmart and the line was long so you know how we do…I will start looking for a line that is shorter. After not finding a shorter line I became so frustrated that I left what I came for because I was tired of waiting. I left and tried to go to another store to get what I needed but only to find out that only that particular Walmart that I was at had what I needed. One of my church members who was there in line with me called me after seeing that I left…said to me, “If you had only waited a little while longer…as soon as you left they opened a new line”.
Has there ever been a time when you left what you needed because you were too tired of waiting?
Whenever God’s people go through adversity their natural complaint is that of: “where is God right now and to ask him why he isn’t doing anything about our situation, our cause and the way we have been forced to walk.” This is the complaint that the people of Israel have been raising to the prophets time and time again. They probably were not happy with the response that came from Isaiah concerning their condition. His answer to them was that they should, “Wait on the Lord”.
Isaiah says to the children of Israel in chapter 40 verse 31, “But they that wait upon the Lord, God will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint.”
There is a blessing in waiting on the Lord. When you wait on the Lord he will deliver you from your situation. Let’s ask Job about him…Job said that all of my appointed day…will I wait until my change comes. The 3 Hebrew boys said no matter what you do to me…I will wait on the Lord. Christ told his mother that my time has not come yet…but I thank God that Christ came down, died on the cross, was buried and on the third day…he got up with all power in His hands.
God tells me that if I wait…that He will renew my strength.
If I wait…He will get me through my trials
If I wait…He will give me peace in the midst of my storm
If I wait…I will be better than I was before
If I wait…I will rise above my problems
There is a song that says, “I don’t mind waiting…I don’t mind waiting, on the Lord!”. I want to encourage each of you that while you wait…don’t worry. God has enough power to handle your situation and put you in the right place…at the right time…for a blessing.

“…while you wait, don’t worry.” Thank God for ‘joy for the journey’. Waiting is necessary but the worry does not have to be.
Great post!
