I was told last night that people perceive certain things about me. And the tone was that they believed it because certain persons perceived it. The problem with this mentality is that when you try to encourage, mold, perfect someone by perception you miss out on a critical component…THE TRUTH!
Perception is addressed in the Bible. In the Old Testament the Lord sent out 12 leaders to spy out the land that was promised by God. He sent them to see what was ahead of them if they followed God’s plan.
The blessing was…their was evidence of a land flowing with Milk and Honey and the Grapes were huge! The problem was that there was giants in the land.
So when they came back with their report, 10 spies said we can’t do it…2 said we can. They perceived that because of what they saw, they KNEW the outcome.
Perception will prohibit your progress when you operate not by faith…but by perception. The devil will cause you to see things that may not be true. He wants to cause you to operate on your own perception and not what God has, can and will do.
We will build and maintain greater relationships with one another if we stop judging our situations on what it looks like and lean on communicating with each other to establish and grow united with each other.
Those 2 spies said, “we can do it…with God’s help”. I have learned that if I trust in God and lean not to my own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and he will direct thy paths. Keep trusting in God as creator, leader and planner over your life.
